PRODUCTS

As a leading dealer of heating and air conditioning products, we carry only the best air conditioning and heating products on the market today. We use American Standard because of quality, part availability, operating cost, and fewer repairs. Here are the American Standard products we recommend:

AIR CONDITIONERS

Heating and air conditioning systems are the biggest users of energy in the home, up to 75% of your utility bill. While air conditioners may look similar, check the SEER ratings. Higher SEER numbers save more money. Our customers that have replaced their old 10 SEER A/C units have saved an average of approximately 38% for a 14 SEER unit all the way to 50% for a 20 SEER unit.

FURNACES

Furnace efficiency is measured as AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency), and a new high efficiency furnace can save in operating costs over a ten year old furnace. Many older model furnaces have efficiencies of 65% or less. The minimum efficiency furnace that can be sold in the United States today is 78%, 80-83% mid efficiency range. The AFUE ratings above 90% are considered high-efficiency.

HEAT PUMPS

Heat pumps are rated in SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) and HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor). SEER and HSPF ratings are like Miles per Gallon rating of automobiles. Higher SEER and HSPF ratings mean greater energy savings. High-efficiency units have efficiencies of 17 SEER  or above. For multi-stage units start at 17 SEER.

MULTI-STAGE HEAT PUMPS

Multi-stage units  start at 17 SEER. A multi-stage unit has the ability to give you less air conditioning in low-load conditions, and up to 100% capacity when conditions demand that. A multi-stage or variable speed units will keep your house much more comfortable and reduce your over all power consumption.

GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMPS

A geothermal or "ground-source" heat pump is an electrically-powered device that uses the natural heat storage ability of the earth and/or the earth's groundwater to heat and cool your home or business.

Like any type of heat pump, it simply moves heat energy from one place to another. Your refrigerator works using the same scientific principle. By using refrigeration, the geothermal heat pump removes heat energy stored in the earth and/or the earth's groundwater and transfers it to your home. We have one in our office that is we installed in 1999 and has never had a repair. Come by when you can and let us give you a tour.

AIR CLEANERS

Air Cleaners reduce the effects of airborne pollutants by trapping particles as small as .01 microns. They can improve your health, keep your entire home cleaner, protect your valuable investments, and save you the time and aggravation of constant dusting.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY

Indoor air quality also known as IAQ has become a huge concern in today's air tight smart homes. There are many options to help home owners today. The Reme-Halo kills bacteria, mold and viruses. It reduces odors, particulate matter, smoke and VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds). Examples of these are pesticides, cleaning products and paint fumes. The Reme even kills 99% of germs on surfaces. Ask one of our techs about their Reme-Halo. We make sure all of our staff members have the best and that is the Reme-Halo.

THERMOSTATS

During winter, you can save about 3% of your heating costs for every degree you lower your thermostat. During summer, you can cut cooling costs 3 to 4% for every degree you raise your thermostat. These savings alone can often pay for a programmable thermostat in two years or less. Programmable thermostats automatically raise or lower the temperature when you're not home, saving you money while still maintaining the level of comfort you desire. We also offer Wi-fi thermostats that you can control from your mobile phone.

DUCTLESS, MINI-SPLIT HEAT PUMPS

Ductless, mini-split heat pumps (mini-splits for short) are a good choice for retrofit additions to homes and are also a great choice for houses or historic buildings that have little to no space for traditional duct work.  Like standard air-source heat pumps, mini-splits have two main components- an indoor air handler that hangs on a wall and an outdoor compressor, condenser unit that sits on the ground.  The two are connected by a small gutter, which houses the communication cable, refrigerant tubing, and condensate drain line.  A small 3-inch hole is cut through the wall to make this possible.

The main advantages of the mini-splits are their small size and flexibility for zoning or heating and cooling individual rooms.  Many models can have as many as 8 indoor air handler zones.  Each of these zones has its own thermostat.  This allows you to only cool or heat the areas needed.  This also saves you energy and money.

Most mini-splits we install have no ducts, so they avoid the energy losses associated with the ductwork of central forced air systems.  Duct losses can account for more than 30% of energy consumption for space conditioning, especially if the ducts are in an unconditioned space such as an attic.  Many mini-splits have an efficiency rating as high as 27 seer.  Please contact us for a no cost estimate for your specific application.
